POSITION TITLE: Finance Manager

ViXS Systems, Inc., based in North York, is a private, Canadian-owned fabless semiconductor company enabling advanced video processing technologies for IPTV, Cable/Satellite set top box, Consumer Electronic and Personal Computer platforms.
ViXS is a fast growing company focused on an explosive market. We are currently seeking a Finance Manager to assist in building the necessary infrastructure required to support our growth, including a potential IPO. In this critical role, you will manage the Company.s finance function as well as human resources and administration. You must be able to perform in a challenging, fast-paced environment and possess the ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines. Not only are you are capable of analytical and strategic thinking, but you are also detail oriented and do not hesitate to .roll up your sleeves. to get the job done. You can assess problems as they arise, develop and implement an effective solution in addition to creating, streamlining and improving operational and financial processes.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance, your responsibilities and duties will include:
Finance
Cash flow management
Preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements for senior management
Preparation of quarterly forecasts and annual operating plan
Preparation of Board of Directors package, quarterly MD&A and annual shareholders. report
Liaising with remote offices (US, Taiwan, China, HK, Japan, Europe and Singapore)
Developing and implementing effective internal controls for compliance with SOX
Managing, mentoring and developing two staff whose responsibilities include:
Quarterly SR&ED investment tax credit reporting and government funding claims
Quarterly royalty reporting
Issuance of sales invoices, credit and collection of receivables
Tracking of raw materials, work-in-process and finished goods inventories
Accounts payable and disbursements, including commissions
Posting to the general ledger (GL) and maintenance, reconciliation of sub-ledgers to the GL, analysis of GL accounts and bank reconciliations
Payroll administration for Canadian and US employees (payroll processing is outsourced)
Preparation of Canadian and US tax returns, including SR&ED investment tax credit
Liaising with auditors; overseeing and coordinating the year end audit process
Preparation of ad hoc senior management reports and statutory reports, as required
Special projects, as required (eg. transition to IFRS, implementation of supply-chain management or other financial systems)
Human Resources
Coordination of annual performance review process
Assist managers in the hiring process, research and recommend competitive employee compensation packages
Overseeing the preparation of offer letters, administration of HR database and stock option plan
Negotiating employee benefits renewals and administration of Canadian and US benefits plans
Administration
Overseeing compliance with contractual obligations such as license and lease agreements
Negotiating commercial and property insurance renewals
Qualifications:
A Chartered Accountant designation
3 to 7 years experience
Strong organizational and analytical skills
Strong follow-up skills are essential
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Canadian financial reporting experience
Superior knowledge of Microsoft Excel, working knowledge of Word and Powerpoint
Working knowledge of Great Plains Accounting packages
Working knowledge of ADP
Compensation:
