POSITION TITLE: Embedded Software Engineer - Network Division


The role is to develop and maintain network MACs for our embedded network devices. This involves coding in C and assembler within a multi-processor environment. The role also includes development of new features and enhancements to the embedded networks communications software stack. This will involve contact with the hardware and host software developers and on occasion, customers. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • a strong technical background, with recent hands-on experience in the development of embedded software
  • interpreting and implementing functionality from and beyond the IEEE 802.11 / MOCA standards through to delivery, maintenance and documentation
  • the ability to take ownership of projects with minimum supervision 

The ideal candidate will have the following profile:

  • 2+ years of industry experience in wireless and/or wireline network communication systems 
  • strong communication skills(verbal and written) in order to draft concise and accurate technical contributions to standards groups for incorporation into the working draft documents 
  • a strong technical background, with recent hands-on experience in the development of embedded software 
  • ability to solve complex problems in a tightly constrained embedded environment 
  • experience debugging embedded software 
  • experience with the GNU tool chain 
  • degree qualified or equivalent 

Any or all of the following will be advantageous:

  • experience of wireless communication protocols such as Bluetooth, UWB or Wireless LAN. 
  • experience of other communication protocols 
  • hardware experience 
  • linux build environments
