POSITION TITLE: Diagnostic Software Engineer

POSITION LOCATION: Toronto, Canada

ViXS is a fabless semiconductor and software developer focused on delivering video on any CE or PC platform.  The company has developed a semiconductor chipset and software solution for processing, managing and securing broadcast-quality MPEG video streams.  Join the ASIC design team to develop the latest ICs that implement ViXS's advanced display technology.


Description:

The successful candidate will assume the following responsibilities:

  • Develop diagnostics used in verification of hardware blocks in future generation of ASICs 
  • Work with ASIC engineers to design test plans used in verification 
  • Maintain an existing diagnostic environment running on Windows and DOS environment
  • Develop a new diagnostic environment running on Linux


Qualifications:

  • BASc degree in computer science, computer or electrical engineering
  • 3+ years experience in C language.
  • 3+ years experience in diagnostics
  • 3+ years experience in programming Windows Applications
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills in English
  • Comfortable using logic analyzer and scope
  • 3+ years experience in developing Linux drivers/applications
  • Adequate understanding of the architecture of device driver under Linux OS
  • Adequate knowledge of Linux kernel
