POSITION TITLE: Associate Software Engineer

ViXS is a fabless semiconductor and software developer focused on delivering video on any Consumer Electronics (CE) or PC platform.  The company has developed a semiconductor chipset and software solution for processing, managing and securing broadcast-quality MPEG video streams.  Join the ViXS team to develop the latest ICs that implement ViXS' advanced video technology.


Description:

The successful candidate will assume the following responsibilities:

  • Develop/test/maintain application and embedded software for the XCode� family of audio/video hardware accelerators
  • From English written specifications, gain understanding of hardware blocks and industry audio, video and system layer standards 
  • Work closely with a team of engineers to generate software specifications and design documents
  • Resolve customer issues for major projects with leading Consumer Electronics (CE) manufacturers


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of BASc degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering 
  • 2+ years experience in C language programming 
  • 2+ years experience in programming Windows Applications 
  • Experience with real-time operating systems
  • Working knowledge in Windows and Linux Operating Systems
  • Basic knowledge of MPEG2/4 technology
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills in English


Any of the following skills would be advantageous:

  • Working experience in assembly languages 
  • C code optimization experience 
  • Working experience on programming hardware using PCI, USB, I2C or peripheral buses
