Description: 

The objectives of Information Technology/Systems team is to; define, initiate and manage a holistic, integrated system of procedures, process and mechanisms to facilitate the capturing,  creating, reviewing, sharing, tracking, releasing and distribution of engineering information and assets, resulting in a measurable level of quality for all customer deliverables and interactions. Achieved by way of; understanding current practices, work-flows, processes; reviewing, re-engineering and integrating new components into the existing systems;  reviewing, refining/defining, documenting and measuring all engineering related work-flows, processes and procedures. This position is for someone that has a deep-seated desire to create, maintain and enhancing secure information sharing, communications and process automation services and systems in the software/hardware engineering realm.  Making recommendations on enhancements, improvements and additions to IT/IS infrastructure and services while maintaining data security, integrity and access control. Administration of all existing and future IT/IS systems and services. 

Responsibilities: This position has, but is not limited to the following responsibilities.

  •  Maintain and administer all existing and future IT/IS services. This includes Windows Server 2003, Windows XP & 7 Desktops, JIRA Server, KnowledgeTree Server, user access and permission control, new policies and work-flows.
  • Conduct information security and service access audits to ensure IP protection and compliance with information visibility policies.
  • Install, configure, integrate and deploy new IT/IS services as they are defined.
  • Fine tune/reconfigure all deployed IT/IS systems to implement changing company policies and procedures.
  • Configure and maintain data work-flows, life cycles in all IT/IS systems.
  • Participate in the definition of, making recommendations for, new IT/IS services to comply with corporate processes and policies.
  • Participate in the planning of new services, and features with a company wide scope.
  • Respond in a timely manner to any administrative issues that arise in any of the IT/IS systems.
  • Schedule and plan for regular maintenance on all IT/IS services to maintain up time.
  • Report to management any issues with the IT/IS services on a regular basis.
 Requirements:
  • Must be a quick learner and detail-oriented
  • Proficient in administration, maintenance and troubleshooting of Windows Server 2003, DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • Minimum 1 - 2 years Linux usage and administration experience with Red Hat enterprise, Ubuntu server, Fedora and Solaris.
  • Solid experience with advanced bash scripting in Linux
  • Strong understanding of JIRA issue tracking system with respect to defining roles, work-flows, issue type rules and permission schemes.
  • Excellent understanding of networking, network topologies, and technologies in a multi-site global corporate environment.
  • Good understanding of the distributed source control management system Mercurial.
  • Strong understanding of development methodologies, processes and work-flows in an engineering organization.
  • Strong background in Open Source software, build systems, tools and applications.
  • Strong background in continuous integration concepts and systems.
  • Must have a high level of understanding of the administration of PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.
  • Has worked in heterogeneous Linux, MS Windows and Solaris environments.
  • Has knowledge of Document and Record management system KnowledgeTree DMS.
  • A good understanding of document/record life cycles and work-flows.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills in English language.
