Position: Senior Field Application Engineer (Sr. FAE)

Location: Toronto


  • The first and primary point of technical support for all ViXS products provided to the customer.
  • Examine customer requirement, and to work with ViXS engineering, sales and marketing to derive solution to meet customers’ needs.
  • Review all engineering deliverables to customers and to provide reviews to customers’ designs as applicable.
  • Coordinate internal engineering development so to stay aligned with customer schedule
  • Identify and analyze customer bug reports, and provide resolution or alternatives in a timely manner.
  • Setup of experiments, tests, equipment, and organize cross-function test forces as required.
  • Publish management reports and cross-function reporting on critical customer issues
  • Provide expertise and technical support to sale and marketing
  • Work closely with account managers to secure design wins, and to support of the product through the design-in phase all the way to product end of life.
  • Develop personal relationships to facilitate rapid resolution on all aspects of customer issues.
  • Focus on customer satisfaction, quality and timeliness of ViXS’ deliverables, customer time-to-market, and ViXS time-to-revenue.


  • 5-10 years experience in the semiconductor or the electronics industry in a development role or a technical customer engineering role.
  • Previous experience in the embedded SOC, OS, middleware, and driver is preferred.
  • BSEE minimum, Master's degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous system-level, application and PCB design experience is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a customer support and project management is a plus.
  • Comfortable working hands-on in a lab environment with electronics test equipment and procedures.
  • Knowledge of video compression, networking and digital broadcast is desired.
  • Strong communication skill, problem solver and organized.
